Education for independence
Taste of Malawi is a young sewing project in the heart of Africa. Women are supported on their way to an independent life through education. They receive a tailoring training, which in combination with commercial workshops forms the foundation for their professional career. The project also offers the women a broad network of contacts enabling them to get to know other women in similar situations. Even after the training, the tailors are accompanied on their way, which leads to financial independence.
What is done with my donation?
As all members of our off-site team are volunteers we can guarantee that all donations we get are used to support the project and our tailors. We compiled more info on the usage of donations on an own page. And as this topic is very important to us we have obligated ourselves to follow the rules of Transparency International and provide the respective information.

We want you! We welcome everyone who wants to join our team, and every single person is a huge help, no matter what skills they bring. After all, Taste of Malawi is about learning together.

Learn together
Taste of Malawi is about self-reliance and female empowerment. But first and foremost, it is about recognising one’s talents and learning to use them. In the process, not only the tailors in Lilongwe but also the members of the off-site team learn together.
Learning together plays a big role at Taste of Malawi. Already during the founding, Jana from Germany and Alex from Malawi were able to learn a lot from each other. Thanks to the digital structures, both teams – onsite in Malawi and offsite in Europe – have the opportunity to be networked at any time and to work together on the project. All members are also present online at the monthly meetings and decisions are made together.
